So where is the Costa del Sol?

ABOUT COSTA DEL SOL

The Costa del Sol is located on the south coast of Spain, SW EUROPE. It is know in English as the Sunshine Coast, or Coast of Sun. Particularly well know in the colder regions of Europe for its excellent climate boasting well over 300 days of sunshine on average per year, the Costa del Sol also hosts some of the most prestigious and luxurious property resorts in Europe.

More precisely, the Costa del Sol actually stretches between two lesser know coastal areas of Maro in the east and Punta Chullera to the west aka Costa del la Luz and Costa Tropical respectively.

Main attractions of the Costa del Sol are its exceptionally good climate, never too hot rarely too cold. Also, due to its southerly coastal position, allows excellent conditions for water sports and sub marine activities.

Property also features hugely on the Costa del Sol. Well know as The Choice for property buyers looking for a second home in the sun due to its excellent selection of coastal and beach side apartments and spacious villas.

The Costa del Sol also features a wealth of celebrity visitors over its busy summer period with Sean Connery and Antonio Banderas both owning property (to name but a few).

The England football team have held training camps, and reality television stars are all regular visitors.  Premier league footballers also own some of the bars and night clubs of Puerto Banus and Marbella town.

Notable towns along the Costa del Sol include (starting from the east) Malaga, Fuengirola, Marbella, Estepona and Sotogrande.

The Costa del Sol is also starting to attract more and more visitor from the Americas, including the USA and Brazil. This proves the popularity of the destination and its ever growing fan base. This was also shown when the recession hit, with the south coast managing to be a lot better off then most of Spain, with some areas reporting no loss of business or sales at all.

Due to its growing popularity and already busy tourism, holiday makers are starting to book their holiday for the upcoming summer season, with hotels and owners reporting 2013 as the busies year for a long while on the rental market.
