Marbella and San Pedro Alcántara, stages of the third stage of the cycling tour to Spain

The third stage of the cycling tour to Spain, between Mijas and Alhaurin de la Torre with 178.2 kilometers, had as scenarios to Marbella and San Pedro Alcántara, being the second time that the city hosts one of the days of this sporting event. Yesterday, the town was the protagonist of the departure of the second stage, with a goal in the Caminito del Rey, and whose cyclist winner was Alejandro Valverde. Today, the Vuelta has continued in the municipality, after arriving the platoon from Mijas, and cross the entire national road (city center), around 13.05 hours, after which they left to San Pedro Alcántara towards Ronda, around 13.45 hours.

The Lieutenant Mayor Sampedreño, Rafael Piña, attended the passage of cyclists on the Avenida Pablo Ruiz Picasso, where he highlighted the relevance of a sporting event of this level pass through our city, with the promotion that it assumes, and is also being a Success, because we show the friendly, clean and elegant image of our city, something that is fundamental for tourism, which we mainly live in, "said Piña, who has also highlighted the great number of fans who have this sport.

In the stage, the runners have passed, in the case of Marbella, by Avenida Severo Ochoa, Ramón y Cajal, Ricardo Soriano, boulevard Alfonso de Hohenlohe, to go to San Pedro Alcántara, passing through Puerto Banús. Once there, they have traveled East Avenue, Revilla Street and Pablo Ruiz Picasso Avenue before leaving for Ronda Road. Precisely, in yesterday, one of the protagonists was the runner Marbella Luis Ángel Maté, who dressed as leader of the mountain at the end of the stage and was also designated as a more combative runner.
